The greatest compliment I can get is a family coming back to me over and over again. It is such an honor to photograph this group. Their oldest son, Ezra, was my FIRST newborn! He’s now 6 years old. In fact, this family is who helped launch me into starting my business and I love them so dearly on so many levels.
Their second son, Milo, just turned three and we met at Cascades Park on a steamy hot morning to take some pictures of him, his big brother, and their beautiful Mama. Age three is so full of spunk. Milo alternated between being a frog, a cowboy, and “a boy named Milo” throughout the session. I love him. His newborn and maternity sessions were some of my favorites.
Happy THIRD birthday, Milo man! You’ll get those three fingers figured out soon enough!
Zoey, Zoey, Zoey. You petite little thing. This doll baby was a sleepyhead for her session. I don’t usually get to photograph sleeping 3 month olds but poor Zoey just couldn’t keep those sweet blue eyes open for a minute longer. Is there anything so peaceful as a sleeping baby? I think not.
PS-Dorothy B. Oven Park has been my jam lately. That place never disappoints.
Ava, this year is going by entirely too fast! HOW are you already 9 months!?! You have beautiful blue eyes and the softest head of baby hair. You mama and daddy had better be getting ALL the kisses they can!

Sweet, sweet Kolton. You are a doll baby and you are my cousin! We’ve had several new babies in our family this year and to say I’m excited doesn’t do it justice. Round little face, chubby chubby cheeks. I could kiss them all day. I take photos of baby’s toes at every newborn session I do. They are so small, so fully, perfectly formed. Baby toes, and the little wrinkles on the bottoms of their feet just leave me in awe. So much detail. So much perfection in such a small part. If such care was taken on such an unnoticed detail, imagine the planning that went into the character of each child. I’m amazed every time.

This little girl was just shy of one month old when we took these last week. Her mama is a longtime friend of mine and Abigail is baby number three, and girl number one to join this amazing family. Photographing these two amazing and beautiful ladies was a blessing. Kelli, you’re beaming with joy. Abigail is a precious jewel.
This was also one of the first sessions photographed in my new STUDIO! I’m just a little excited. I’d love to photograph you in it. Be on the lookout for open house info in the coming weeks!

Maclay Gardens in full bloom is one of those things that genuinely cannot be recreated.
Not next month. Not next year. Not by finding a similar spot somewhere else in town.
The soft pastel color, the light filtering through the canopy, the feeling of being completely surrounded by spring - it exists for a brief window, and then it is gone.
April 11 is the date. Five spots is the limit. When those are filled, that is it for this spring.

My dad was a hobbyist photographer when I was growing up.
Not a professional. Just someone who paid attention, picked up his camera, and kept a record of our family over the years.
Those photos have given me something I did not fully understand the value of until I was older - glimpses of moments that would have otherwise just faded. Seasons of our family`s life that I can actually see, not just try to remember.
That is a big part of why I believe what I believe about this work.
Your family is your legacy. The people in your life right now, at this exact age, in this exact season - they deserve to be beautifully preserved. Not just for you, but for the people who come after you, who will one day look at those images and feel the warmth of a family that showed up for each other.

Tonight I had the first session of the year! It was beautiful. I’m not sure if I love this warm January or not, but it sure made this maternity session more comfortable.
