Launch Day 2 • Business Spotlight: Image by Lisa

Meet Lisa. She’s the owner of Image by Lisa and has rocked her business from day one. I met Lisa years ago when she was did a Spa Party at a friends house. Since then, she’s grown from Spa Diva to beauty guru and is has a heart for educating women in addition to getting them ready for their weddings, photos and events.

During a consultation with Lisa, she will

  • walk you though an entire look
  • address each of your biggest concerns
  • you will leave with a list of exactly what was used, colors, and where to buy everything
  • a cheat sheet and a list of tools to purchase

It’s very step by step and I had the opportunity to witness it first hand when I stopped by last week to take some pictures of her in action.

Lisa’s heart for helping women present their most confident self goes beyond her one-on-one consultations. She has a thriving online social presence where she shares weekly videos including Makeup Tip Monday- LIVE on Facebook every Monday or on her Youtube page weekly, along with blog posts to go with it. Last week’s video was a tutorial about using that spongy Beauty Blender. I could get lost watching and reading all of Lisa’s helpful tips. She has a sea of knowledge and is excited to share it.

Although Lisa uses and promotes all makeup brands, she has recently aligned with Arbonne to provide her clients with their everyday basics. Not only is she able to teach women how to do their own makeup, but she is able to connect them to the exact colors used by connecting them to Arbonne. Lisa is also an outspoken advocate for life and is donating half of her retail profits from her Arbonne sales this month to A Women’s Pregnancy Center.

She is generously participating in the promotion of my website launch by giving away one of her one-on-one make up consultations. After seeing her in action and watching how well she teaches her clients, I’ve asked her to book one of these sessions for myself!

And because we all love a good before-and-after, here are some of her recent clients as well as Lisa herself.

The link to the specifics for Lisa’s giveaway are included in the box at the bottom of this post.  It’s pretty straight forward and I’m using Rafflecopter to help keep track of everyone’s entry to ensure a fair winner. Best of luck to you!

Be sure to check out and enter the other businesses who are participating in this week of giveaways as I celebrate this new website!

There are certain places that just make everything easier.

The light falls right. The space feels calm. The family relaxes without even realizing it.

I have been thinking a lot lately about the locations I keep coming back to, and what it is about them that works. Some are outdoors with gorgeous natural canopy and soft, open light. Some are quieter, more tucked away. Some I discovered by accident and now I wouldn't trade them.

What they all have in common is this: they feel true to the families I photograph here in Tallahassee and the surrounding area. Unhurried. Warm. Real. Give me all the "old Florida" vibes.

Swipe through to see a few of my favorites right now. Do you have a favorite spot around Tallahassee, or somewhere nearby that means something to your family? I would genuinely love to hear it - drop it in the comments or send me a message. I am always looking to grow this list.

Seen here are Goodwood Museum and Gardens, St. Theresa, Summer Camp Beach, Park Avenue Chain of Parks, and Dorothy B. Oven Park.
That’s not a filter. That’s the finish.

Editing isn’t about fixing something that went wrong, it’s the last step in creating the image. The light, the color, the feeling. It all comes together in the edit.

Raw files are a little like unfinished film negatives. They’re where we start, not where we land. What you receive is the image as it was always meant to look.

This is the part of the work I genuinely love. And it shows up in every single image I deliver.
