Tallahassee lifestyle newborn photos at Home

There’s nothing as sweet a your new baby. We photographed baby Anderson’s lifestyle newborn photos at home in the space that his parents lovingly created for him.  I love nurseries and all things “house” and design. This room has one of the best features I’ve seen yet. One wall had all of baby Anderson’s extended family’s childhood photos printed in black and white. His parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. It was just asking to be a feature in his own lifestyle newborn photos at home. You’ll see them in that gorgeous photo of his parents both holding him, as well as in the background of one more. Can you spot it?

I love capturing the little actions you do as a parent. The things that end up being so unique to this 4th trimester: burping your baby in just the right pose, the rock-and-sway motion that soothes them just right. It may seem like such a normal thing in your new life with your new baby, but one day you’ll wake up and those old tricks are no longer necessary. I’m always glad to capture them during your newborn photos at home.

My dad was a hobbyist photographer when I was growing up.

Not a professional. Just someone who paid attention, picked up his camera, and kept a record of our family over the years.

Those photos have given me something I did not fully understand the value of until I was older - glimpses of moments that would have otherwise just faded. Seasons of our family`s life that I can actually see, not just try to remember.

That is a big part of why I believe what I believe about this work.

Your family is your legacy. The people in your life right now, at this exact age, in this exact season - they deserve to be beautifully preserved. Not just for you, but for the people who come after you, who will one day look at those images and feel the warmth of a family that showed up for each other.

Tonight I had the first session of the year! It was beautiful. I’m not sure if I love this warm January or not, but it sure made this maternity session more comfortable.
