Tallahassee maternity photography sessions can take place in your home, at a local park, or anywhere around the city. Many of my clients have worked hard to have a baby. These sessions help you remember the sweet season of life for both yourself, and your future children. Although pregnancy seems long when you're in the midst of it, it's really such a short time in the grand scheme of things and most mamas only experience it a few times. You'll always be glad you had your maternity portrait made and documented the love and excitement between you.

Q: When is the best time to do my Tallahassee maternity photos?
A: For first babies usually between 32-35 weeks. For second, third+ babies, closer to 30 weeks. We want a nice round belly, and a mom who is still feeling pretty good. Much past 35 weeks and there may be some puffiness and general soreness from your baby who is packing on the weight those last few weeks.

Q: When should I contact you to schedule my maternity photos?
A: Now! If you have a due date, now is the time to schedule! I can't stress this enough. My calendar books several months in advance so as soon as you're ready, we can book you onto my calendar.

Q: How long is a maternity session?
A: Typical maternity sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour long depending on how mom is feeling. If we have outfit changes, or need to drive to a different spot within our location/park, we'll need a bit more time than that. I move quickly so that we can get a lot of variety in your final gallery of images.

Q: How many photos can I expect from our Tallahassee maternity photography session?
A: About 50

Q: I'm not always loving how I look right now. What if I'm puffy the day of our session?
A: I've got you!!! I promise to use flattering angles, guided poses, and gentle editing when needed so that you'll see you the way I see you. You're beautiful mama, even if you're not feeling it right now. Years from now you'll look at your maternity photos and see the beauty of when you were carrying your baby, and you'll have nothing but thankfulness for what your body went through to bring him or her here.

Q: What do I wear?
A: Once you book your session, I'll send you a prep guide with suggestions on this. Also, when you book with me, you have access to me to run ideas by. I often have clients who will send me a picture of the outfits they're considering. You're also welcome to bring several with you so that we can decide the day of your session, or change outfits during the session for more variety. Q: What if baby arrives early and we can't do our maternity photos?
A: We can easily convert your session into a newborn session!

Q: I want to do photos of maternity, newborn, and then some of our baby's first year. Do you offer a discount?
A: YES! That's exactly what the Collective Membership was designed for!

Q: What if if rains?
A: If 24 hours before your session, there is greater than 50% chance of rain during your session time, we'll talk about options and come up with a plan together. This usually means we'll either reschedule or move to an indoor location. We can't control the weather and there's no charge if this happens.

Q: I don't know where we want to take our photos. Can you help us decide? Make recommendations?
A: I definitely can! Tallahassee maternity photography sessions can take place anywhere around town. We have some beautiful parks all around town and they photograph wonderfully. I also love when families choose to have their session in the comfort of their home. Q: We live outside of Tallahassee (Thomasville, Crawfordville, Valdosta, South GA, elsewhere in North FL) can we still hire you for photos?
A: Yes, I'd be honored to work with you. If you live further than 30 minutes outside of Tallahassee, I ask that maternity clients travel to Tallahassee for their session. If you'd like me to come to you and you're (the coast, north of Thomasville, Valdosta, etc) there will be a custom travel fee depending on your distance from Tallahassee. This works out to approximately $125 per hour of travel).

Q: I'm dreaming of maternity photos at the beach. Do/can you do these?
A: Yes! Pricing would be custom just as in the scenario above, based on distance from Tallahassee. Also, there are a few locations in town that can give a similar look to the beach if you have your heart set on photos in or around water. HERE is a Tallahassee maternity photography session at a local park. Occasionally I travel to the beach and will take on clients while I'm there. You can choose to book just one session or join my membership and have everything documented from pregnancy to baby's 1st birthday. Most of my clients join the membership to take advantage of the savings. Keep scrolling to learn more!
Once we've decided on a time and date and officially put your session on the calendar, I'll send you a getting ready guide that will walk you through everything from choosing outfits, my favorite locations for maternity photos in Tallahassee, and strategies for getting kids to cooperate.

I'll also send you a little questionnaire to get to know you a bit better so I can best prepare for your session and make sure we create exactly what you want.
Tallahassee maternity photo sessions are typically 45 minutes, but I don't charge by the hour, so if there's a wardrobe malfunction or child meltdown, we have flexibility.

I'm going to help you with posing and getting your little ones to smile. Your job is to relax and go with the flow! My sessions are about capturing your family interacting with each other naturally with my gentle coaching on setting the scene to make great images. All you have to do is follow my instruction, play with your baby or kids and spouse, focus on them so I can focus on you!
About 2-3 weeks after your session you'll receive your online slideshow where you can see all your photos from the comfort of your home and then pick your collection. Every collection includes a set amount of digital files and a print credit to get started displaying your favorite photos in your home.

Once you've chosen your collection, you'll have access to the gallery for a full month to download your favorite digitals and spend your print credit on gorgeous artwork. You can also share the gallery with friends and family!

- most family and maternity photos are on location at one of our beautiful local parks, but we can also do an at home session
- prep guide to help plan what youāll wear, advice for selecting a location for your session, and start thinking about how you want to display your new favorite photos in your home
- a collection is purchased after your session. families expect to invest $700+ after each session

Created to keep your baby's first year well photographed. Believe it or not, memories will fade, but photographs can help you recall those tired, foggy days snuggling your perfect little babe. The collective is for anyone who plans to book at least two sessions in an 18 month period. Read more about the membership here.

- 2 - 4 sessions of your choosing (maternity, newborn, milestones, birthday, family session, etc) over an 18 month period, for one creative fee, $500. if you book a maternity and newborn session, you are automatically enrolled into the membership
- 25 complimentary birth announcements after newborn session
- priority booking
- early booking access to holiday session events
- $100 print credit for any future sessions after your membership concludes (2 year session, family sessions, etc)
- access to join my yearbook club after membership is completed

Absolutely. The Collective Membership is chosen by almost half of our clients, as it offers a discount on the creative fees. If you are planning on visiting us yearly, this is the way to go!
Are digital files and artwork included?
We firmly believe that you should see your final portraits before choosing or committing to any products, so digital files, albums, and framed artwork aren't included in your Creative Fee. After each session, you select one of three collections that each include a set number of digital files and a certain amount of print credit which you can use to print what you need in your home.
CAN MY WHOLE FAMILY BE INCLUDED?
Always. We are family-centered and encourage the whole family to be a part of every session, whether it's maternity, newborn, a milestone session, or family cake smash. It's always sweeter when you are surrounded by those you love.

These seasons with your family are fleeting.
I know that sounds like something you see on a sign at HomeGoods, but I mean it in the most practical, un-cheesy way possible: the version of your kids that exists right now will be different in six months.
The way your toddler laughs, the way your baby fits in the crook of your arm, the way your whole family piles onto the couch on a Tuesday night - it changes. Gradually and then all at once.
These photos were taken of my daughter on her last week of kindergarten this year. Her playful spirit, in her bedroom, wearing the dress she wore for their Peter Rabbit end of year program. All the sweetness of the year in a few snapshots. I will love them forever.
The photos I make for families are not about having a perfect day or a perfect outfit or perfect kids. They are about stopping long enough to say: this was us, right here, in this season.

A few things I am loving lately that are helping me move through the juggling act with a little more sanity:
A single charging base on my nightstand. One cord. One base. Phone, Apple Watch, AirPods... all done. I waited way too long to make that little switch.
And honestly? The Chattanooga trip. Getting out of the daily routine and being intentional about time with my husband reminded me that those moments do not happen on their own. You have to actually put them on the calendar.
