Heyward House is a nursery retailer who makes beautiful, soft decor and clothing. They are also the final business spotlight for the week of giveaways and today’s sponsor in helping promote the relaunch of my newly rebranded website.
When their samples arrived in my mailbox earlier this week so I could photograph them on some adorable babies (see below)… ya’ll. You will LOVE their goods. High quality, soft as can be, and seriously cute. I wish they’d been around when my girls were tiny. Thankfully they carry sizes up through 4T, so my tall four year old can fit into their two piece PJ’s. We’ll need to be keeping a pair of these. You can invoice me, Heyward House. My little man loved the hot air balloon 2-piece PJ’s.
I’ll let Heyward tell us about their business
(Instructions for entering the giveaway are in the Rafflecopter box at the end of this post)
Blair and I have lived in the Charlotte area for about 6 years now and absolutely love living here. I am originally from Charleston, SC and Blair is originally from Tallahassee, FL. We travel back to Tallahassee often as Blair’s family still lives in the area. I work as a Physician Assistant for a Neurology practice in Charlotte and Blair is a professional artist and graphic designer here in the Charlotte area- and previously designed cycling apparel for companies throughout the US. We have an almost two year old son named Sullivan who is the absolute light of our lives and are expecting a baby brother for Sullivan in May.
The birth of Heyward House
When our son Sullivan was born in 2017, we made the decision for Blair to stay at home with him and I would continue working. During this very special, but transitional time for us, Heyward House was born! Professionally, Blair had mostly been a graphic designer, however he is truly a creative spirit and studio artist at heart! I, on the other hand, had always had a love of home design, textiles, fabrics. We decided to combine our creative interests and strengths to create timeless nursery decor and custom infant/toddler clothing that people could AFFORD. Blair started by creating delicate nursery prints. We actually sold for the very first time at the Sweet South Cottage French Country Flea Market in Tallahassee.
We soon realized that Blair’s nursery designs translated beautifully onto textiles, paving the way for our first line of ‘Heyward House’ clothing and bedding. All of the patterns featured on our bedding and clothing products, as well as our custom nursery prints, are original artwork created by Blair. Each and every design is unique and carries special meaning for us.
Our fabrics
We chose to use 100% Pima cotton for all of our products after a great deal of research- both with our own son’s items and in comparison to other products on the market. Pima cotton is a special type of cotton that is primarily produced in Peru. It is made from extra long staple fibers, which make this particular cotton extremely gentle and soft on your little one’s skin. Not only is this one of the softest products that you can find, Pima cotton is known for its durability- it truly softens with each wash and has a longer lasting life than most infant wear and bedding. We also loved this type of cotton for children with skin sensitivities.
Why the name Heyward House?
My grandfather, James Heyward White, whom I’m named after, owned a business in the 1960’s called Heyward House, which mostly manufactured high-end decorative lamps sold worldwide. You can actually still find many Heyward House products throughout the US. We chose a lamp as our logo to honor his legacy. The lamp is also representative of Psalm 119:105- ‘Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path’. Without God’s guidance and never ending grace in our lives, we would never be where we are today. The lamp is surrounded by Camellia flowers, which is our family favorite- as Blair’s father, loved Camellia’s Blair’s entire life. Blair’s father passed 2 years ago and we wanted a to honor his influence on our lives. You may notice that we featured the Camellia on many of our little girl pajamas, making this a design that is very close to our hearts.

If you don’t already, like my photography page so you don’t miss out on one last massive giveaway coming next week. I’ll be giving away one photography session and some of the beautiful new print products that I’m beginning to offer this year. I can’t wait!
Be sure to check out the other five businesses participating in this week of giveaways who have already been featured. Their giveaways are still active for entering through midnight tonight! And… not sure if you noticed, but we got a day off with our schedule due to a very important family event in my world yesterday. My daughter had her first gymnastics competition and I was one proud mama watching her compete. I’ll be sharing some of those pictures on my social pages shortly.
